Ice-Cream Drama: Unilever has threatened to halt funding to the Ben & Jerry's Foundation, a U.S.-based nonprofit that makes donations to social justice organisations.
MAHA: The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced plans to remove all petroleum-based synthetic dyes from the nation’s food supply, as part of the federal government’s broader effort to 'Make America Healthy Again'.
FDA Madness: On the other hand, the FDA is suspending a quality control program for testing of fluid milk and other dairy products due to reduced capacity in its food safety and nutrition division.
Earnings Slowdown: Chipotle reported weaker-than-expected quarterly revenue, citing both a slowdown in consumer spending and adverse weather as two of the factors that dampened demand.
Japanese Rice: Japan has imported rice from South Korea for the first time in 25 years in an attempt to address soaring prices and growing consumer anger.
Tariff Aftermath: PepsiCo said it no longer expects its earnings to rise this year, given that its Ireland-made concentrate is now subject to a 10% tariff imposed by President Trump.
Celeb Burgers: Neat, the vegan burger chain backed by Sir Lewis Hamilton & Leonardo DiCaprio, has shut its remaining UK locations, after a spate of closures over the last 18 months.
Greenwashing: Confectionery giant Mondelēz International is facing a major lawsuit alleging that it falsely claims climate neutrality on Clif Bars, pushing offsets into further scrutiny.
Delivery Wars: DoorDash has asked a judge to dismiss Uber's anti-competition lawsuit against them which alleges that the company uses coercive practices to make sure restaurants use their platform.
Palestinian Conflict: The World Food Programme said it had run out of food stocks in Gaza due to the sustained closure of crossings into the enclave.
Chipotle’s Move: Chipotle is expanding internationally with a location in Mexico that is set to open early next year, bringing its Mexican food…to Mexico.
Food Additives: A new study conducted by several French universities has found that the negative effects of food additives may be compounded when those food additives - emulsifiers, colourants, artificial sweeteners - are eaten together.
